In 2010, TankSafe® entered the North American market with a mission: to provide the most effective solution for preventing fuel siphoning and skimming in the trucking industry.
However, TankSafe®’s worldwide history began a few years earlier and across the Atlantic in England where the company was founded by former truckers Ryan and Brian Wholey.
Fed up with experiencing fuel theft from their fleet of trucks, the pair invented the first generation TankSafe device which hit their home market in 2004 before expanding into Europe in 2008.

TankSafe®’s North American journey began in Mexico, where we equipped thousands of trucks with retrofit solutions that immediately reduced fuel theft for fleet owners.
Our early success quickly gained traction; soon major truck dealerships and manufacturers began to introduce TankSafe® as an integral part of vehicle specifications to help reduce cost of ownership for their customers’ fleets.
By 2015, TankSafe North America achieved a major milestone when Ford North America recognized the value of our product and integrated TankSafe into all their F650/750 trucks.
This partnership solidified our position as a trusted supplier to some of the most respected names in the trucking world alongside Iveco, Schmitz Cargobull and Tata in Europe and India respectively.
But we didn’t stop there. Listening to the unique needs of the industry, we expanded our expertise to create bespoke solutions, such as our collaboration with Daimler Truck North America, where we developed specialized fuel caps addressing specific regional requirements.

Today, over 3.1 million TankSafe® units have been fitted globally, ensuring TankSafe North America is a trusted name among truck manufacturers, dealerships, fleet owners and corporate fleets like Coca-Cola and Charger Logistics.
